Newcomer Kimberly Hagen finished second with 7,851 votes and Mark Rustad, another newcomer, finished third with 6,729 votes. “If the commission decides to try again (with a sales-tax proposal), they now have the mechanism to do so,” Ford said.
But after Tuesday’s election, the commission will have two new members who likely will be cautious with home rule-based proposals.
