Millions of EF mount lens out there and since I have them, I like it. I did an impulse buy with Resolve Studio a few years back. The key still works and I recently downloaded the latest version.
How Does the Sony A6500 Stack Up Against the Sony A7III?
"We have not made any significant progress since last year," says Sigma owner and CEO Kazuto Yamaki, when asked about the planned full-frame Foveon camera. But he still believes in the project and discussed with us what such a camera could still offer. Sigma has announced it will be offering six of its DC DN APS-C lenses for Canon's RF mount, making it one of the first third-party manufacturers to sell RF lenses under license. Mood.camera is a new iOS camera app that aims to emulate film photography by offering 14 'film stock' filters, but which, like film, only shows you the results after you take a photo.
In the Studio
It’s not a run-and-gun kind of camera but a tool for carefully prepared shots from a tripod, gimbal, or drone. So it doesn’t matter much that it can’t be controlled from the shoulder. @dmanthree there is also a growing amount of L-Mount cinema lenses, as many camera makers move to mirrorless mounts (RED uses RF, Sony their E-Mount). Most come in PL as well, but some (for example, Cooke SP3 or Sirui anamorphics) are now exclusive to mirrorless mounts. And, as Samuel said, you're free to adapt anything to L-Mount at the cost of mount rigidity.

With regards to Braw, there's an increasing number of smaller production units that use a Braw/DaVinci Resolve workflow, many of them users of one or more of the BM Pocket Cinema cameras. The Pyxis is to a large degree a result of a demand from existing Pocket users for a camera with this form factor. @arhmatic - BM already has a hand-held 6K camera with a tilting screen in the back.
Features of the Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro

It was required to get Netflix approval for the URSA 12K, so it may be a smart play to include it here. The larger sensor also offers the flexibility to shoot at Super 35mm or Super 16mm settings if you want. The full-frame 6K is limited to just Blackmagic RAW while the Pocket 6K Pro offers ProRes as an option. The full-frame 6K will be able to record proxies at the same time though. With similar goals to its standalone Ninja monitors/recorders, the Phone Ninja connects a camera's HDMI out to a compatible iPhone for live view, recording, live streaming and file transfer.
Shot as a dance promo for director, Cristina Piemonte, this project was all about difficult lighting conditions. Sjoerd Wess is a well known Instagrammer and YouTuber. ‘Through the Watchmakers Eye’ is a beautiful short about his father, who is one of the last master watch repairers in Holland. Sjoerd talks about shooting with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, using a Mitakon 50mm cine prime and LAOWA 100mm lenses.

The Panasonic GH5, with internal stabilization and face-detection autofocus, is a good alternative in that case — but it is also more expensive. Based on Adobe’s DNG (digital negative) format for still photography, CinemaDNG is kind of a hack job — essentially, it stores every video frame as an individual image file and doesn’t support video-specific metadata. Navigating menus and changing settings has never been easier. Everything is exactly where you’d expect to find it, labeled in plain English, and the tap targets are large so you won’t accidentally hit the wrong button. It also requires an external recorder to capture 10-bit video. Lastly, it has C-Log capture and the industry-leading dual pixel AF.
If they used Nikon Z - practically any lens could be adapted. @MikeRan - While it might be primarily a software problem, people don't realize that motion control and anything that involves interfacing software with hardware (like a lens) is HARD. Probably the Sony A7R line of cameras will continue and they seem aimed mostly at photographers (stills).
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro review: pro filmmaking without the price!
We all love making memories, and a great way to collect those memories is to take a quick snap of a gorgeous landscape, a party in full swing, or a particularly incredible meal. The Apple iPhone now also adds a location to your pictures, meaning it can collate those images together into a location-themed album, or show you all the shots you've taken in a specific location. It's a fun little addition, and it's one that adds a lot of personality to the Photos app. In our experience, the autofocus was often slower than simply focusing manually (which, again, is quite easy to do thanks to the great monitor). Worse, it only focussed correctly about 50 percent of the time, often missing focus even in well-lit situations with plenty of contrast. Noise is also kept impressively low, at least through ISO 1600, the highest sensitivity we needed during our review.
A series of heatsink vent grills draws the heat away from the FPGA processor and image sensor. As the heat is drawn away from critical components, the liquid flows to cooling fins that are designed and specifically angled to minimize intrusion of dust or other contaminants. That’s especially impressive considering how self-contained it is. Lens and memory card aside, this camera has everything you need to start filming 6K footage squeezed inside its frame.
I would love to hear what you guys think when working with this camera, especially when filming at a “busy surroundings” like a wedding or such. I’ve always disliked Blackmagic Design’s original use of Canon LP-E6 batteries, which last about half an hour in the original 6K camera. Thankfully, the company has adopted Sony’s L-series batteries with the BMPCC 6K Pro, which has a slot for one of the smaller NP-F570s.
The BMPCC 6K Pro utilizes a Super 35-mm sensor which has been one of the most popular sensor formats for filmmakers for decades. While it's technically smaller than full-frame sensors, it's comparable to the APS-C sensors you'll find in many photography cameras (though it's a bit wider). The camera also uses an EF lens mount, which means it has access to a pretty wide range of popular lenses. There's not much to criticize about the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Pro 6K—besides its cumbersome name. Putting a full-frame sensor inside one of Blackmagic’s cameras is probably the best upgrade I could’ve asked for. I often shoot videos in my apartment, and it can be difficult to get images that look good because there simply isn’t enough space in the frame to get the scene that I want.
Everything else would have serious compatibility issues due to the mount protocols being complex and requiring large amounts of reverse engineering. They're confident with reverse engineered EF because that mount has been around since the mid-1980s. Having the machine tools for creating the molds and finishing and the production line capacity capable of turning out these cameras isn't a commonplace ability. It still looks like a Tonka camera, but they have improved what needed to be improved. Blackmagicdesign is a company that listens to their customers. I know it ain’t a mirrorless mount but they still have to adhere to the current lineup.
Saturation changes the amount of color in the images. Saturation can be adjusted between making images black and white, or up to very strong colors. Changing the saturation setting can even reproduce film looks, or adding lots of color can be great for kids shows that need to be fun and crazy.
Unlike most competing cameras, physical buttons are fairly sparse here, and the ones that are on the body have all earned their place. A few physical buttons and a dial on the right side let you adjust settings like ISO and white balance without digging through the interface. DaVinci Resolve's free version is already incredibly powerful, and most cinema cameras that push into the 6K range are quite a bit pricier than the BMPCC 6K Pro. If you're looking to get your foot in the door on pro-level filmmaking, it's hard to find a cheaper entry point. The result is that the new Cinema Camera 6K performs even better in low-light conditions than the already impressive model that came before it.
